City Clerk: Andrea Lorenzo-Luaces, CMC
Andrea Lorenzo-Luaces joined the City of Winter Springs, Florida in January 1995, beginning her tenure with the City in the Building Department. Then in October 1997, Ms. Lorenzo-Luaces transferred to the Office of the City Clerk to serve as Deputy City Clerk. On February 22, 1999, with the City Clerk moving out of the area, Ms. Lorenzo-Luaces was appointed by Mayor Paul P. Partyka, with the ratification of the City Commission, to serve as Interim City Clerk. Then, on September 27, 1999, Mayor Paul P. Partyka, again with the ratification of the City Commission, appointed Ms. Lorenzo-Luaces as the City of Winter Springs' City Clerk.
A native of Sydney, Australia, Ms. Lorenzo-Luaces has also lived in New Jersey; and various cities in Florida.
Ms. Lorenzo-Luaces has an A.A. from Daytona Beach Community College, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Florida (Jacksonville).
Through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), the Florida Institute of Government, and the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC), Ms. Lorenzo-Luaces has achieved the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and is currently involved in the Master Municipal Clerk Academy, working towards the highest designation possible - Master Municipal Clerk (MMC).
As an active member of the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC), Ms. Lorenzo-Luaces has served three successive years as the Chair of the Institute Committee; is a new member of the Professional Education Committee; and is assisting on a Committee involved in Redistricting efforts for the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC). Previously, Ms. Lorenzo-Luaces has also served the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC) as a Member of the Membership Committee, and the Mentoring Committee.
Ms. Lorenzo-Luaces is truly honored to be able to serve the Mayor and City Commission, City Staff, and the citizens as City Clerk for the City of Winter Springs, Florida.
