Captain James Wilkins commands the Criminal Investigations and can be reached at 407-327-7981 or jwilkins@winterspringsfl.org . The primary function of the Criminal Investigations Bureau is to conduct follow-up investigations of reported crimes. These investigations consist of interviewing suspects, victims, and witnesses; analyzing information for validity, reliability, and accuracy; and compiling a comprehensive and factual case file to be presented in court.
The Bureau is comprised of a supervisor, three general assignment detectives, one elderly services / crime analysis detective, one auto theft task force detective, and two narcotics task force detectives.
