Information Services Director
The Information Services (I.S.) Director reports directly to the City Manager. The role of the I.S. Director is to direct and manage the activities of the I.S. Department as well as all technology for the City. This is done via weekly staff meetings, project and planning meetings, meetings with vendors, etc. The I.S. Director also has a fiduciary responsibility to the City regarding responsible I.T. Spending. The I.S. Director's role also includes promoting, encouraging, and assisting in the use of Information Technology throughout the City to improve overall performance and effectiveness of City government activities.

IT Coordinator and Security Administrator

The IT Coordinator is responsible for managing the many daily duties of the Information Services Department. These duties include management of many IS projects, assist in developing departmental budget, and planning and allocating departmental resources as necessary. The Security Administrator is responsible for maintaining security for the City of Winter Springs computer and network infrastructure. This is achieved by applying industry best practices and methods.

Network Administrator
The Network Administrator is responsible for the overall planning, deployment, operation and maintenance of the City's entire computer network infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, servers, desktops, laptops, cabling, wireless devices, and the software and hardware linking these computer systems in various departments, remote locations and even separate domains. These network resources include access to print services, file services, communication services, electronic mail services, and other systems required for World Class operations of the City.

City wide responsibilities encompass daily administration and support of multiple hardware and software platforms and network infrastructure some of which include: VMware Virtualized server environment, Storage Area Networks (SANs), Enterprise wide Anti-virus solutions, Microsoft Exchange email services, BlackBerry Services, LAN computer installs and configurations, data backup and restores.

The Network Administrator ensures that a Customer-Centric driven approach is used in providing Help Desk support and services to city employees utilizing City wide network resources. This in effect enables them to provide efficient customer service to our citizens. This same Customer-Centric driven approach is used in the management of Network wide projects. These projects involve coordination with outside vendors, consultants, and other government agencies. Activities include proactively identifying and recommending upgrades or replacement of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and providing competitive quotes to users as needed for equipment and services.

System Administrator I
Responsible for the technology of the Winter Springs Police Department, which includes implementing and maintaining applications and services that revolutionize the data available to our Law Enforcement Professionals. These services are crucial to the safety of our officers, as well as gaining the knowledge the officers need to conduct efficient and through investigations. The revolution of the data systems available to our Police Department makes our duty to the community and service to our citizens that much better, with the proactive approach of reducing crime, and quickly allowing the apprehension of criminals.

Projects & Application Support Specialist
The Projects & Applications Support Specialist is responsible for maintaning and improving the level of quality of the various software the City utilizes. This software includes the financial application that is used throughout the City for various needs such as Accounts Payable, Utility Billing, Payroll and Budget. Other applications that are supported include office productivity software as well as the City's Intranet site which houses various paperless forms and other documents. The Records Management system is also maintained by the Projects & Applications Support Specialist. Other duties involve the coordination of all training with all of the assorted software applications and the customization of various software needs through out the City.

Web/Multimedia Technician
The Web and Multimedia Technician's duties include website development and improvements, software troubleshooting and installation, hardware troubleshooting and installation, training development/design, print media development/design, graphic design, Audio/Visual control and maintenance for the Commission and employees.

Ron Kandzer,
Kiva Administrator & Systems Analyst
The Kiva Administrator is responsible for the overall deployment, operation and maintenance of Kiva, an ensemble of application components, which facilitate the permitting, planning, inspection, and code enforcement processes engaged by various personnel in the Community Development, Fire, Police, Public Works, and Building departments. The Kiva Administrator works with each department to expand the use of this powerful tool through training and process improvement opportunities. Responsibilities also include the development of the budget for the Kiva project that will ultimately incorporate the integration of wireless technology for field inspectors, internet access in the public domain, and Geographical Information System (GIS) data.

Barbara Martin,
Projects Clerk
The IS Projects Clerk is responsible for any of the department's administrative tasks. The position also enters all of the requisitions for the department and monitor all of the purchase orders to make sure all items came and all appropriate paper work is sent to accounts payable for payment. Also, it involves getting all of the paperwork and information together for the Monthly Report that goes to the City Manager.

The IS Projects Clerk makes sure all the times sheets are correct and ready for payroll. The position also keeps up on all of the software and hardware maintenance contracts and make sure that they are updated and signed for each fiscal year. Also, it involves handling the leasing for the copiers and printers as well as the postage machine and make sure all of the supplies are available and also call for repair if any machine is not working properly. The IS Projects Clerk also handles the Surplus Assets for the organization to make sure all the paper work is taken care of and ready to go to the monthly auction.

The IS Projects Clerk is also responsible for making sure the City's telephone bills have the correct pricing and information. The position is also responsible for making changes in the telephone system when any of the City's numbers and extensions are changed, added or deleted. Also, it involves helping out in the records management department and is responsible for the IS department's records retention. The position is also the backup position for the City Operator, City Manager's Assistant, and the Purchasing Coordinator.
