April 2021: Keep your Mind and Body Active

Keep your mind and body active

How are you and your loved ones holding up in 2021? Are your needs being met? One great way to reduce stress at any age is to keep your mind and body active!

Are you getting out enough?

With this beautiful Spring weather, now is the perfect time to head outdoors and explore! There are so many great places to visit here in our backyard of Seminole County! Check out Orlando North - Seminole County for some ideas on things to do and places to explore safely!

Are you challenging your mind and body?

We have all had a lot of time this past year to try new things! Here is a list of ideas to get you started with a new hobby:

  • Arts and crafts projects
  • Write in a journal
  • Exercise at home - with or without equipment!
  • Go for a walk in your neighborhood
  • Ride your bike on the Cross Seminole Trail
  • Create a neighborhood check-in group
  • Do jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, and word searches
  • Go online and play games with family and friends virtually
  • Join a book club - online or in-person!

Parents, get creative! Create scavenger hunts for kids - they can be done inside the home or out at the park or on a nature walk!

Whichever activity you choose, please do so safely! If you are out walking, utilized marked crosswalks when crossing the street. If you are joining an online club, remember not to give out any personal financial information online. Crime prevention starts with you!

Are you looking for an activity that gets you involved in the community? Join the Citizen's Advisory Committee and see what your Police Department is doing for you!

The Winter Springs Police Department wants your input at our Citizen Advisory Committee meeting. CAC meets the second Wednesday during September through May at the Winter Springs Police Department (300 N. Moss Rd) at 6:30 pm. Join us to meet community leaders, discuss community issues with the Police Department staff officers, and learn more about taking an active role in your community’s security. Everyone who attends is encouraged to ask questions and talk about what is going on in their neighborhood. Light refreshments are served.
