UPDATE 05/11/2026 10:00 am
With the delivery of sand late last week, operators have restored functionality to two of the four filters after installing them. They anticipate bringing these filters online by midweek. Next steps include repairing the remaining filter, replacing its sand later this week, and monitoring all restored units for proper performance. The goal is to have two fully rehabilitated filters operational by the end of next week.
UPDATE 05/05/2026 1:00 pm
The new sand filter was delivered on May 4, with installation beginning May 5. Staff anticipate it will take approximately two to three weeks to bring the unit fully online.
Crews continue working through challenges and efforts to move reclaimed water from the west side of the city to help support service needs on the east side continue. Balancing water across the system has been difficult, but staff continue to work around the clock to stabilize service.
UPDATE 04/28/2026 2:30 pm
The City continues to make progress on improvements to the reclaimed water system. The new sand filter is scheduled for delivery on May 4, and staff anticipate it will take approximately two to three weeks after delivery to bring the unit fully online.
Crews are also working through challenges tied to the age of the existing reclaim infrastructure. The current system is old and antiquated, and teams are addressing a significant recent pipe repair while simultaneously working to move reclaimed water from the west side of the city to help support service needs on the east side. Balancing water across the system has been difficult, but staff continue to work around the clock to stabilize service.
We will continue providing updates as progress continues and milestones are reached.

While our contractors have been working non-stop to restore the production of compliant reclaimed water, they have not yet been able to consistently produce water that meets required standards.

UPDATE 03/09/2026 10:30am
We wanted to provide an update on the current reclaimed water outage in the eastern service area.
Recently, our utility operator discovered that some equipment at our east wastewater treatment plant was malfunctioning, preventing our facility from consistently supplying compliant reclaimed water to our eastern service area.
After several attempts, it was determined that the necessary repairs would be more extensive than initially expected. An emergency inspection by the manufacturer revealed that media replacement and rehabilitation of critical components are necessary.
Additionally, our efforts to supply reclaimed water from our west plant were insufficient to achieve the required water pressure to meet demand in our eastern service area.
Due to the high cost of these repairs, approval from the city commission is required before proceeding. Once approved, the repairs are expected to take several weeks to be completed.
Our team is working diligently to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and will provide updates as they become available.
