Matt Benton has been a resident of Winter Springs for over 28 years. He and his wife, Shelia, own and operate a small print and promotions business in the area. Matt and Shelia have been married for over 32 years and have two children, Mindy and David.

Matt graduated from Daytona Beach College with an Associate in Arts (AA) and has attended the University of Central Florida for Computer Science and Business Management. Prior to being elected as Commissioner, he served the City of Winter Springs as a volunteer committee member on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and the WSPD Citizen's Advisory Committee. He is currently active in the ministries of his church, The Church at 434.

Matt originally moved to Winter Springs due to its quiet and beautiful community. After years of attending City Commission meetings, he was motivated to serve as a City Commissioner to help his fellow residents and the City he loves. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
