  • The 2019 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report is an annual regulatory requirement by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), which was mailed to all utility customers at the end of June 2020.  Unless indicated otherwise, the report is based on the monitoring of the City’s drinking water from January 1 to December 31, 2019.
  • The City routinely samples its drinking water for over 100 parameters at multiple sampling locations in accordance with Federal and State water quality regulations.  The Annual Report provides the sampling data for those parameters that were detected.
  • The City tests a minimum of 40 samples per month (480 samples per year) for Total Coliform Bacteria. In April 2019, there were three samples that tested positive for Total Coliform Bacteria. Nine repeat samples were taken within 48 hours of the original samples and all repeat samples were negative for Total Coliform. No corrective action was required by FDEP.
  • The City invested approximately $6 million in water quality improvements at Water Treatment Plant #1.  The selected treatment technology has been successful with lowering the Disinfection By-product levels in the water and maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • As part of the Water Works program, future upgrades at the water treatment plants will provide enhancements to the taste and smell of the drinking water.
  • The City’s drinking water maintains compliance with all State and Federal regulations.
